Fun at home

The kids and I have been having lots of fun at home. While I have been planning Porters class Halloween Party at school I have found lots of great ideas for crafts that are fun for kids. So we have been busy making seasonal garb. The kids love it, Porter even took his ghost to show and tell he was so proud of it.

I made these yummy muffins and porter decorated them they were so cute and oh so good.

I also made these Cinnamon rolls.
OH MY GOODNESS they were pure heaven.
The best rolls I have ever made.

house guests

Each fall we get new guests at our house and this year, he has been our biggest. It is so fun to live so close to the mountains. I took these pictures right off our deck. The boys get so excited to see the deer they run to the windows and are so happy to see all our animals.

THE LION KING

Brian and I got to go to the Lion King Broadway production in SLC with our bank as guests and it was so wonderful. We truly loved every minute of it, and the entire time we were there we kept saying just how much the boys would love it. So the morning after we had seen it I went online and found tickets (they were good too 7 rows back from the stage) for us all to go the following week to the Saturday matinee. Again it was so wonderful. The costumes, songs, actors and actresses, and pageantry was just amazing. We could not believe the little voices of simba and nala those kids were very talented.

It was really funny on our drive down to SLC, we told the kids that we were going to a theater and the show had real live people in it. Their first questions were about the treats. and I informed them that there is no treats at these kinds of shows, these kind are different that is why we have to were our nice clothes and everything. They were pretty bummed out "WHAT NOT EVEN POPCORN." so when we got there and they had water for sale Ryker said "see there is something." They were also able to get a 4 inch cushion to put under their bottom so they could see. They though that was pretty neat.

The boys wanted to check out the theater so this is Ryker up on the stage and both of them looking down into the orchestra. They thought that was so awesome.

We had such a wonderful time and Porter super loved the show he is still talking about it a month later. Ryker not so much it was a long time for him to sit,and he got scared when the laughing hyena's came on to the stage with scar, but after intermission he hopped into Brian's lap and fell asleep.
When we got home that night we all piled into my bed and turned on the movie the Lion King and had popcorn. Perfect end to a perfect day!!!

Porter life cycle

Myself and the kids were in the car 10-11-2010 and porter is looking through a magazine we had received in the mail. on the cover was a picture of a herd of sheep and he tells me...
Porter: I know the life cycle of a sheep mom.
Me: You do? lets hear about it???
( knowing that he has been learning about life cycles at school
but still wanted to know what he knows.)
Porter: well a baby sheep is a lamb... a mommy sheep is a sheep ... and a daddy is a goat.
I started laughing at that point and pointed out to him that sheep and goats are completely different animals. hahahaha. we laughed and laughed and then he says...
That is so funny mom put that on out blog.
