THE LION KING
Brian and I got to go to the Lion King Broadway production in SLC with our bank as guests and it was so wonderful. We truly loved every minute of it, and the entire time we were there we kept saying just how much the boys would love it. So the morning after we had seen it I went online and found tickets (they were good too 7 rows back from the stage) for us all to go the following week to the Saturday matinee. Again it was so wonderful. The costumes, songs, actors and actresses, and pageantry was just amazing. We could not believe the little voices of simba and nala those kids were very talented.
We had such a wonderful time and Porter super loved the show he is still talking about it a month later. Ryker not so much it was a long time for him to sit,and he got scared when the laughing hyena's came on to the stage with scar, but after intermission he hopped into Brian's lap and fell asleep.
When we got home that night we all piled into my bed and turned on the movie the Lion King and had popcorn. Perfect end to a perfect day!!!
Porter life cycle
Myself and the kids were in the car 10-11-2010 and porter is looking through a magazine we had received in the mail. on the cover was a picture of a herd of sheep and he tells me...
Porter: I know the life cycle of a sheep mom.
Me: You do? lets hear about it???
( knowing that he has been learning about life cycles at school
but still wanted to know what he knows.)
Porter: well a baby sheep is a lamb... a mommy sheep is a sheep ... and a daddy is a goat.
I started laughing at that point and pointed out to him that sheep and goats are completely different animals. hahahaha. we laughed and laughed and then he says...
That is so funny mom put that on out blog.

Ryker's booboo
Ryker fell at a football game and whacked his little chin on some metal. The boys went to the high school powder puff football game with a friend and while they were off playing Ryker got hurt. I was home cleaning and my phone rang.
I hear porter on the other end completely panicked.
P: MOM!! Ryker is bleeding..
me: " ok, Ryker is bleeding, How bad? does he need a band aide?"
P: Yes!!! a HUGE one. he fell and whacked his head on metal. he is bleeding all over.
me: I will leave right now and i will bring a band aide.
P: oh and mom (totally calm now) will you bring tape?
me: I will be right there.
When I got to the game Ryker was fine
sitting with my friend
with a big blue band aide on his
little chinny chin chin.
He has healed really fast thank goodness.
I have since said that I am thankful for the
HUGE first aid kit that I have in the closet.
It seems lately that I will be needing that a lot!

Porter Crashes
Poor Porter!
We were on our way to church and he was riding his bike when he left the garage I knew he was going to crash. I am so glad that he had a helmet on. His helmet has deep scratches all along the right side, his shirt was shredded, and his pants got some road rash too. His little elbow took the brunt because there was nothing there to protect it.
It makes me hurt.
he said that when he got down the hill he was just going to fast, and his handle bars turned really fast and he flipped over them and landed in our neighbors flowers.

Ykee turns 4!!!
his new monkey pillow pet.
Ryker was so excited to turn 4 this year.
It is a pretty good thing too because we had lots of parties!
We celebrated with family for Ryker and Olive at the park in the middle of their birthdays, then Brian and I hosted a few more days of parties so it was a running countdown everyday I made a new cake with "how many more days til rykers birthday" It was pretty cute. He loved it. I also broke down and let Ryker have friends over for a little party in the middle of the day. We had a little water party, with a home made slip and slide, on the hill. Filled up the pool, and lowered the tramp for the little kids they had a blast.

did I fail as a parent???
Ryker was playing in the living room
he lets out the biggest loudest toot ever and he gets a real sheepish grin on his face and says, "that's my air conditioning."
I thought I was going to die!
a little while later...
Porter is laying in bed
informs Ryker that Fast Sunday is when you hurry really fast at church so you can get home to watch football.
